IIT Delhi ranks 4th in the Overall, 3rd in Research, 2nd in Engineering, and 4th in Management list of NIRF ranking 2022. In the QS World University Rankings 2023, IIT Delhi secured 174th position. IIT Delhi admission 2022 is currently ongoing for the B.Tech program. JoSAA 2022 round 6 seat allotment result is out now. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, popularly known as IIT Delhi, is a public research and engineering institute, established in 1961. IIT Delhi BTech
IIT Delhi BTech program is rated 2nd position in the Engineering category of NIRF rankings 2022. The program has a total of 14 specializations and 1045 student capacity. The institute has also added BTech in Energy Engineering in its curriculum. The total intake for the new specialization is 40 seats. The total fees for the program are INR 8.43 Lacs. IIT Delhi MTech
IIT Delhi MTech program is specialized in 47 streams. The program is provided in full-time and part-time mode to the sponsored and regular students. IIT Delhi MTech admission for a full-time degree requires 300-600 scores in the GATE exam. Students without GATE scores can also apply for admissions. The institute also has a provision of direct admission. For this, the aspirant must have a BTech degree from an IIT with an 8.0 CGPA.
The part-time MTech degree at IIT Delhi is designed for working professionals and lasts between 6-10 semesters. In each semester, the workload is significantly lower than that of full-time students. IIT Delhi has introduced a variety of online in-demand certification programs. All the online courses are offered through IIT Delhi’s Eruditus Executive Education platform. Graduates or Diploma holders from any recognized university or college are eligible to apply for the IIT Delhi online courses. The fee for all the online certification programs ranges from INR 50,000 to INR 1,00,000 (excluding GST). Also, the duration of the online programs ranges from 5 to 7 months. IIT Delhi Scholarships
IIT Delhi offers a range of scholarships, financial support, teaching assistance facilities for UG, PG, and Ph.D. students. Interested students can apply to the following scholarships based on the eligibility criteria.
Undergraduate Scholarship
- Institute Free Studentship-U.G.: This scholarship is open for 10% of students. Scholarship is dispersed on the basis of income alone.
- Institute Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to about 25% of UG Engineering Students. Scholarship includes INR 1000 per month and tuition fee exemption. To claim this scholarship parental income should be less than 4.5 Lac annually.
- Institute Merit Prizes and Certificates: Top 7% of students from B.Tech & B.Tech Dual Degree are rewarded with an amount of INR 2500 up to the 8th and 10th semesters.
- Scholarship provision for SC/ST students: Under this scholarship, SC/ST students are exempted from the tuition fees.
- Donor Scholarship: These scholarship are offered through grant recieved from individuals and organisations.
Postgraduate Scholarship
- Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarships: M.Sc Students are provided INR 1000 per month, however, only to students with parents’ income is less than INR 4.5 LPA.
- For IIT Delhi M.Tech., M.S. (Research), and M.Des. Students: These students are awarded an amount of INR 12,400 per month under the financial assistance scheme.
- For Ph.D. Candidates: Full-time students are offered a research assistantship of INR 25000 INR.
IIT Delhi Faculty
IIT Delhi Faculty members include Rukmini Bhaya Nair, renowned poet and linguist, is the HOD of Humanities Department and experienced faculty from Stanford University. Other faculties such as Prof. P. V. M Rao and Prof Paresh Choksi are known for core course designs, live projects, and startup ideas in the institute.

IIT Delhi Infrastructure
