NEET PG 2022 counselling registration has started online. Candidates will have to register online to participate in the counselling process. September 23 is the deadline for registration for round-1 NEET PG 2022 counselling. The choice filling for round-1 NEET PG 2022 counselling will start from September 20 to September 25. According to latest updates, MCC has added/withdrawn some seats for round-1 NEET pg 2022 counselling. Candidates can declare choices for round-1 accordingly. The seat allotment result for NEET PG 2022 round one counselling will be released on September 28. 

Only those who qualified NEET PG 2022 with the minimum cut off percentile will be eligible to participate in the counselling. NBE had announced result for NEET PG 2022 written exam on June 1. 

NEET PG 2022 counselling comprises steps such as online registration, paying fee, filling preferences for college and course, seat allotment result, and reporting. Candidates must note that MCC will be conducting counselling for allotment of 50% All India Quota seats while respective state counselling authorities will be conducting counselling for rest 50% seats. A total of 4 rounds of counselling willl be held for AIQ seat allotment. 

Earlier on August 8, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) asked candidates to generate their PwD certificate before the start of round-1 NEET PG 2022 counselling. Candidates who had registered as PwD candidates and want to avail the benefit of reservation must acquire the disability certificate issued from any one of the designated NEET Disability Certification Centre through online mode only. 

What is NEET PG 2022?

NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation), is conducted for providing admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)MS (Master of Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the exam once a year in computer-based mode. The scores are also used for taking admission to postgraduate MBBS DNB courses. The exam is conducted for 10,821 MS seats, 9,953 MD seats, and 1,979 PG Diploma seats offered by various medical colleges in India.

NEET PG 2022 Counselling

The process of NEET PG 2022 counselling involves registration, choice filling for college/course, seat allotment result, and reporting to the allotted institute. Admissions to the MD/MS/DNB course will be finalised on the basis of the counselling. MCC will conduct NEET PG 2022 seat allotment for 50 per cent AIQ, Deemed/Central Universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes. Respective state counselling authority will hold the counselling session for the rest of the 50 per cent seats. 

Online Registration for Counselling

Aspirants are required to register themselves on the official website of MCC and fill the application form to participate in the NEET PG 2022 counselling. Only those candidates who will register on the official website of MCC will be able to participate in the NEET 2022 counselling. Qualifying NEET PG 2022 is compulsory for participating in the counselling. The application/registration process for counselling involves the following steps:

  • Creating a profile on the official website of MCC

  • Completing the application form of NEET PG 2022 counselling 

  • Uploading the required documents

  • Depositing the application fee for counselling (credit card/ debit card/ net banking)

  • Choice filling and locking

  • Printing a copy of the duly filled application form

NEET PG Reservation: The Revised Criteria

Last year the Centre had approved 27 and 10 per cent NEET PG reservations for OBC and EWS candidates respectively in 50 per cent All India Quota seats. Candidates who belong to the OBC category (non-creamy layer) as per the Central OBC list, will compete for 50 per cent seats in government medical and dental colleges across the country via AIQ. Candidates don’t need the domicile of any particular state for admission to 50 per cent AIQ seats. Similarly, those who belong to EWS (Economic Weaker Section) will be eligible for 10 per cent quota in NEET PG admission. Candidates of both categories need to produce the relevant documents at the time of admission. For candidates of SC and ST categories, there is already a reservation of 15 and 7.5 per cent respectively in NEET PG admission.

NEET PG 2022 Merit List

On the basis of the result, NBE prepares a NEET PG merit list. According to which seat allotment process takes place. The higher the position in the merit list better the college candidates get. NBE prepares the merit list on the basis of various criteria. Below are the four criteria upon which merit list will be prepared:

  • All India rank in the exam

  • All India 50 per cent quota rank

  • All India 50 per cent category rank

  • State quota or private medical colleges/ AFMS Rank 

NBE released NEET PG 2022 merit list for 50% All India Quota seats on July 14. Candidates included in the merit list will be eligible to participate in the NEET PG 2022 counselling process. MCC will conduct counselling for 50% AIQ seats. Dates for NEET PG 2022 counselling will be released most likely in the third week of July.

NEET PG 2022 Cut Off

NEET PG 2022 cut off, the minimum qualifying percentile has been released along with the result on June 1. The minimum qualifying percentile for general candidates is 50th, while for SC/ST/OBC, it is 40th percentile. Various factors decide the NEET PG cut off 2022 including the number of candidates who appeared for the exam, availability of total seats, difficulty level of NEET PG and others. Candidates have to secure the minimum qualifying percentile to become eligible to participate in NEET PG counselling 2022 for admission to MD / MS / PG Diploma programmes. NEET PG 2022 Result and Scorecard

NEET PG 2022 result has been released by NBE on its official website. The result has been uploaded in PDF format. Candidates have to download NEET PG scorecard/rank card by logging into their registered account. Candidates are advised to save the copy of the result in hardcopy for reference purposes during the counselling process. Candidates must note that the result will be valid for that particular academic session only. NEET PG 2022 cut off score has also been released for different category. Candidates must note that cut off has been decreased this time in comparison to last year.

NEET PG 2022 Question Paper

For aspirants, NEET PG question paper is very important resource to scale up the overall preparation. Candidates aim to solve as many as NEET PG question paper to get the insight into the exam. Solving question paper and analysing the performance make them understand their weak and strong areas. Candidates also come to know where they exactly lacks and what more needs to be done overall. But the sad part is NBE doesn’t release the official question paper for NEET PG exam as it wants to keep the content confidential. Candidates are bound by non-disclosure agreement not to reveal the content in public. However, candidates can get memory-based NEET PG question paper from coaching institute and other unofficial sources.

NEET PG 2022 Application Process

NEET PG 2022 application process involved steps such as registration, filling up details in application form, paying exam fee, and uploading documents. The application process started with registration. Only those candidates who registered themselves on the official website of NBE, nbe.edu.in could submit application form for NEET PG 2022. A login ID and password gets generated after successful NEET PG registration process. NBE had released NEET PG application form 2022 on January 15. To complete the application process, candidates had to upload scanned copies of photographs and signatures. They had to pay a non-refundable application fee to complete NEET PG applications 2022. The deadline to submit application form for the exam was March 25.

NEET PG 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to apply for the exam or who wish to participate in the counselling process must check the eligibility criteria before applying for it. NBE releases NEET PG eligiblity criteria along with the information brochure. NEET PG eligibility criteria have been summarised below:

  • Aspirants must possess an MBBS degree/provisional Pass Certificate which is recognised as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 
  • They should also possess a permanent/ provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council
  • They must have completed the duration of their internship on or before July 31, 2022

NEET PG 2022 Admit Card

The NEET PG 2022 admit card was released online on May 14. Candidates will have to download NEET PG admit card 2022 from the official website. Candidates are advised to check all the information carefully after downloading the hall ticket from the official website of NBE. Candidates must print a copy of the admit card and affix a latest passport size photograph on it. The admit card should be preserved until the admission process gets over. Specifications of the photograph are as under:

Photograph specification:

  • A photograph of a minimum of 35 mm x 45 mm with at least 75 per cent coverage of the face & head of the candidate
  • A caption with the name of the aspirant along with the date of taking photograph at the bottom of the photo
  • The photograph should have been taken in a white /very light-coloured background
  • The photograph needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolutions
  • The colours must possess the natural appearance and skin tone
  • The photograph must not have kinks, scratches, and stains
  • Photograph with reflection or shadow on the face with red eyes should be avoided

NEET PG 2022 Exam Day Guidelines

  • The exam timing is 9 am to 12:30 pm. Entry will close at 8:30 am.
  • Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least an hour prior to the examination.
  • It is mandatory for all the candidates to go through the security procedures.
  • Electronics such as calculators, smartwatch, pagers, etc. are prohibited in the exam hall.
  • Candidates are advised not to carry bags, books, pens, pencil boxes, writing pad, etc. to the exam centre.
  • These items are banned inside the examination hall and the centre does not have provisions for their safe-keeping
