VITEEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The VIT Vellore releases the eligibility criteria for VITEEE 2024 on the official website. Candidates should satisfy the VITEEE eligibility criteria before applying for the VIT engineering entrance exam 2024. As per the exam eligibility of VITEEE 2024, Indian nationals, NRI and foreign national candidates are eligible for the VITEEE exam 2024. Below are the complete VIT eligibility criteria 2024.


VITEEE Eligibility Criteria




  • The applicant should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National / PIO.

  • Foreign Candidates studied/studying abroad can apply directly through foreign category.

Age Limit

Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2001 are eligible to apply for UG Engineering admission (UGEA) 2024. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.

Qualifying Examination

Candidates applying for UG Engineering admission should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2024 in any one of the following qualifying examinations:

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.

  • Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

  • As per VIT Norms, Regular ‘NIOS’ board candidates are also eligible for Undergraduate Engineering programmes. Applicants should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.

  • They should also provide the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Total (including all subjects) and upload the scanned copy of the mark list and other relevant documents whenever available on the application form.

  • For Indian nationals/ NRI/ PIO card holder, appearance in VITEEE-24 is mandatory to be eligible for B. Tech. admission under regular mode (Applicants under International/NRI quota exempted) . In case VITEEE gets cancelled due to natural calamities, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks or JEE-23 or a valid SAT. Applicants will be informed with specifics in such case

Qualifying Examination

Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2024 should have secured minimum aggregate of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2024 should have passed with minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate) for the following categories:

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST

  • Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.

How to fill VITEEE Application Form 2024 online? | VIT VELLORE direct admission 2024

1st Step – VITEEE 2024 Registration – Visit the official website- and click on the new registration link for B.Tech admissions. Candidates will have to register by providing their name, date of birth, gender, nationality, mobile number, and email id. The login password will be sent by the authorities into the registered email id of candidates.

2nd Step – Filling of VITEEE 2024 Application Form – After completing the VIT registration 2024, the next step requires filling the application form. Candidates will have to provide information about their personal, educational, qualifying exam, and contact details. After all these details are submitted, the application number will be generated. 

3rd Step – Payment of VIT Application Fee – The candidates have to pay the required application fee through net banking/credit card/debit card.

VITEEE 2024 Slot Booking | Get VIT Vellore Direct Admission 2024-25

Registered candidates will have to book their slots to appear in the VITEEE 2024 exam. The VITEEE slot booking 2024 will be open through Online Test Booking System (OTBS). The slot booking of VITEEE 2024 should be done at the earliest as slots should be allotted on a first come first serve basis.

VITEEE 2024 Result

VIT Vellore will declare the VITEEE 2024 result in online mode. Candidates will be able to check their individual VITEEE results by logging into the candidate portal using the using VIT B.Tech 2024 application number and password. 

The exam authorities will prepare the VITEEE result 2024 based on the marks secured by the candidates in the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics sections. An Equipercentile Equating procedure is followed by the authorities in order to calculate the VITEEE 2024 result. On the basis of the ranks obtained in the entrance examination, candidates will be called up to participate in the counselling and seat allotment process.

    VIT will conduct the VITEEE counselling in online mode. Candidates will be required fill their choices as per their preference during the counselling of VITEEE 2024.

    All candidates having their names in the VITEEE 2024 rank list will have to log in and fill choices of course and college during registration. The allotment of seats will be on the basis of the rank list and the choices made by candidates during registration. It may be noted that to confirm the seat allotted, candidates will also be required to submit 50% amount of the admission fee during VITEEE 2024 counselling.
